October 11-16, 2021 6 Day/6 Night 1st Annual “Someday Isle” Backburner Book Writing Retreat

$550.00

October 11-16, 2021 6 Day/6 Night 1st Annual “Someday Isle” Backburner Book Writing Retreat at Sorensen Ranch in Clover Valley Nevada is an all-inclusive, book writing retreat for anyone who has found themselves putting that great idea for a novel, picture book, poem, or short story on the “backburner”.

You know who you are. You’re a resident of “Someday Isle”

“Someday I’ll write that book.”

“Someday I’ll have time to focus on my writing.”

“Someday I’ll take time to get my creative juices flowing again.”

You’re the mom who has been putting her children first for the last two decades (and you’re not sorry that you have) who now has a little bit of breathing room to dust off those old ideas and resharpen her skills. You’re the man who has focused on the career that provided for your living, but you’re finding yourself drawn back again and again to those old wishes to write down those stories and tell those tales that have fired your imagination for years while you’ve been plugging away at getting the things that needed doing done.

You’ve been putting the needs of family, friends, and other obligations ahead of that creativity that has always fed your soul, but you’ve been feeling lately that you’re starving without it. You’re ready to make time for the process that puts you in touch with your own spark of genius.

You’re the student who has spent years in the words written by others. You’re the graduate with your head deep into the knowledge that has been essential to your goals. You’re the grandparent who has waited your whole life for the time to tell your memories. You’re the dreamer, young or old, who has been the responsible one, focusing on all of the things that have needed to be done.

You’ve been putting the needs of family, friends, and other obligations ahead of that creativity that has always fed your soul, but you’ve been feeling lately that you’re starving without it. You’re ready to make time for the process that puts you in touch with your own spark of genius.

You’ve been living in the “Someday Isle” space where the hope for the love of writing that nourishes you has fueled your efforts to contribute, serve, and build a life you love. And now that love of writing is pushing at you more insistently. It’s waking you up in the mornings, pulling at your heart and filling your head with dreams, ideas, words, plotlines, and paragraphs just waiting for the time and place to be planted on paper.

This is the retreat for you.

A place where you’ll have time to think. Where you’ll have like-minded creators to discuss and share with, time to set some good habits to continue cultivating when you go home, and the wide open space of the Great Basin that is big enough to encourage all the creativity your heart can hold.

Come spend a week at the foot of the East Humboldt mountains. Unplug from the world and take your pen and papers to write beneath the sound of aspen leaves beside a fast moving stream. Pick up the pages that have been simmering on the backburner of your mind, gather around a campfire and gaze at the stars while telling impromptu stories to spark your thoughts and practice fearlessness in storytelling. Take time to breathe and give yourself permission to focus on one good sentence at a time.

There’s a book in you, a story waiting to be told. Come join us and let your journey begin.

Our  1st Annual “Someday Isle” Backburner Book Writing Retreat will focus in on habits, practices, and prompts that can help any writer, whether fledgling or well-seasoned, increase their opportunities to put pen to paper and their inner world into words. Writing isn’t just the good idea, it’s the daily practices that move you from a daydreamer to an author.

We’ll take care of the accommodations, food, and schedule; you bring your ideas and the willingness to work on them. You’ll be amazed at what a week can do for your writing. Come and see what it can change for you.
